Wet Basement
Few things can make us more furious like a Wet Basement. Instead of spending money on traveling, clothes or other more pleasant things, we have to throw away our hard-earned money on Basement Repairing.
There are different reasons that cause this problem. For example, cracks on the walls, temperature difference between the pipe and the air (what causes condensation or “sweating” on the pipe), high humidity level in crawl spaces etc.
You can all agree that it is better to get rid of the problem once and for all. That is why we have to know main methods how to repair Wet Basements. These are:
- wet basement waterproofing
- basement drainage.
Wet basement waterproofing can help when your cellar leaks after it rains or when the snow melts. Waterproofing materials prevent water from leaking in by filling the pores in the concrete. These materials go on like paint on the walls.
Basement drainage systems are installed below the basement level. They channel the water from the base of the wall into a drain tube that leads to the pump, which pumps outside. These systems are very effective, but they can only be installed while the house is under reconstruction.
